In 2024, Value Village celebrated its 70th anniversary as a company. Value Village is the Canadian branch of thrift stores that accepts donations of used clothing, accessories, books, furniture, and household goods on behalf of a select non-profit partner. Each store accepts donations on site, records and sorts the inventory, and uses money from sales to buy the stock from the non-profit. Value Village has led many initiatives over the years to promote reuse and recycling, including the infamous "I give a shirt" campaign.
As the DEI manager at the Dartmouth store, I was often tasked with planning celebrations and activities to include everyone. Along with the planned decorations and activity table, I donated my time as a designer to create fun fact posters to display throughout the store. The original idea was to make a trivia scavenger hunt for prizes. Each poster features a fun fact about the company and mimics the company's existing visual identity.

Fact Posters 1/2: Value Village provided a list of fun facts for the team members to share with customers. The copy is sourced from that list.

Fact Posters 2/2: The color scheme and Iconography are inspired by the company values posters found throughout the break room and on their website.

Fact Poster in context: The Dartmouth Value Village had a number of support beams in and around the aisles. The posters were displayed on the beams at eye level for customers to see as they shopped.
