The Friends of the Acadian ForestĀ is a non-profit volunteer organizationĀ in Wolfville, NS. Every year, they host a Native Plant Sale to raise funds for the upkeep of the public gardens, sponsor their environmental research, and continue their nature preservation efforts. The Friends of the Acadian Forest reached out to the NSCAD students of Interdisciplinary Design to create a new sale brand identity to appeal to younger audiences.
The Acadian Forest, our collective home, is endangered. Through working with the Friends of the Acadian Forest i began to understand how vital native plants are to the local ecosystem and how our community needs to take more action towards environmental stewardship. I wanted my design to reflect the relationship between us and nature, and the need to step aside and make space for the plants to grow.
